Have you been in situations where radical and quick changes take place, unclear directions and pressure keep coming from the top…people jump off the ship and leave the team??
When shit hits the ventilator, negativity starts spreading, performance goes south rapidly. The magic ended.
Resilience and having a grounded Team - no matter what comes - has become so important today for a Team Leader in ultra-fast paced work environments.

What’s resilience btw…? It could sound like this.
“The capacity to cope emotionally and mentally with difficult changes which can go from tough adversities until real traumas”.
And it is a muscle. Like any muscle, it can be developed with the right exercises.
And a consequence of daily habits which become a system which create tougher teams.
Possible Approaches and Tips
Lead by example often and consistently
A simple concept which is hardly followed consistently.
Be your values, be resilience. Your People are watching you all the time.
2. Modeling After High-Resilience Profiles
Have Your Team pick one every now and then.
It’s educational…and a free ride for you Team Leader.
3. Be vulnerable, be human
Admit when you screw up publicly, you will connect at a deeper level with the Team.
4. Create psychological safety
It may go like this. "It’s ok to be You, it’s ok to make mistakes: We are in this together.".
To a certain extent, obviously.
5. More Mastery, less of an outcome orientation
It’s a way to take pressure off the Team. This what the Leader may convey.
“Forget about the game or the target (for 1 sec), concentrate on being Your best NOW and getting better every day. Don’t let your mind high-jack you and go off to the future, to the end result. Stay here and focus. It's my job to take you to win."
6. Life is not work, is also work
There is more in life than what work, games, targets.
Open up with the small talk (news, trip reports etc...) also, it’s very important in my view.
7. Create a Team Manual
In 3 workshops, you want to lay down the specific values and behaviors that make up Your Team. It’s about creating a strong Team Identity to rely upon when shit hits the ventilator.
